A Mob Burns the Mill Creek Bridge in Cincinnati
On the night of July 23 during the Great Railroad Strike of 1877, a mob set fire to an Ohio & Mississippi Railroad bridge over Mill Creek in Cincinnati, then attacked firefighters who tried to put it out. Later they set the bridge on fire again.  In the morning, the mob looted milk and market wagons heading into the city. Tramps and thieves were blamed for the destruction, not strikers..
